Dear clients, we’re here to talk about something near and dear to our hearts—feedback. Feedback steers the ship, so to speak, helping us to create the best brand and digital experiences for you.

But giving feedback doesn’t necessarily come easy, and there are many reasons for this. Maybe it’s your first time working with an agency. Maybe you’re juggling lots of stakeholders, tight deadlines or conflicting priorities.

Whatever the case, we can help. So, let’s dive into some practical tips to make the process smooth, efficient, and maybe even a bit fun?!

1. Be specific

Vague feedback is like telling a chef to “make it taste good.” What does “good” mean to you? Sweet? Spicy? The more specific you are, the better we can create outcomes that resonate with you and your audiences. Don’t like something? Ask yourself why. Digging a little deeper can help us both to understand the underlying issue.

2. Keep it focused

We love hearing your thoughts, and detailed feedback is excellent, but too much text can be overwhelming and actually make things less clear. Focus on a few key points. What’s working? What isn’t? Prioritise the most important elements you want to address. This helps us zero in on what matters most to you.

3. Consistency is key

We know how important stakeholder engagement is, and we love a collaborative atmosphere, but you know what they say: too many cooks lead to contradictory feedback. When one stakeholder says X, and another says Y, it can lead to a mish-mash of input that undermines the strength of the outcome. By consolidating feedback and ironing out inconsistencies in your feedback, we can understand your vision more clearly.

4. Make it visual

Sometimes words aren’t enough and, oh boy, do we love a moodboard. If you’ve seen a website, a design, or even a colour palette that resonates with you, share it with us! Visual examples can bridge the gap between what you envision and what we create.

5. Think about your audience

Your project isn’t just about what you like; it’s about what your audience will connect with. When giving feedback, consider your target audience’s preferences and behaviours. This perspective can help guide your suggestions and ensure we’re all aligned.

6. Seeing the forest for the trees

Sometimes, changes in one area can affect the whole project. While little design tweaks might seem minor, it can impact the overall balance. Always consider how your feedback fits into the bigger picture and aligns with your overall goals.

7. Keep the momentum going

We understand you’re busy, but timely feedback keeps the project moving smoothly. Delayed responses can lead to rushed decisions and compromised quality. Set aside some dedicated time to review and provide your insights.

8. Celebrate the wins

Finally, don’t forget to acknowledge what you love! Positive feedback is incredibly motivating and helps us understand what we’re doing right. It’s the fuel that keeps our creative engines running.

Providing clear and constructive feedback doesn’t have to be a chore. With these tips, we can turn the feedback process into a collaborative and enjoyable journey.

Together, we’ll create something truly spectacular that reflects your vision and wows your audience.
