Meet Gabby Birtles, our senior account manager.
Who are you?
Gabby Birtles. I’m an outgoing, go-getting, karaoke-loving girl from Perth, Western Australia.
What do you do at Liquorice?
I work with my clients to solve business, marketing and communications problems. My role is to get the best out of every project, working with our incredible team of digital minds, creatives and strategists.
How did you get here?
Curtin Uni gave me a Bachelor of Commerce with a Marketing major. After moving to Melbourne and spending a while in various contract marketing roles, I met Scott, the wonderful and talented man who started Liquorice. Six and a half years later, they still can’t get rid of me!
What's the best thing about working at Liquorice?
The people. Both my colleagues and my wonderful clients. I work with the most supportive, talented and generous team of people, many of whom have been with Liquorice for over seven years—that’s saying something!
If you could learn one new skill, what would it be?
Argh! Just one?? First up: photography. I’ve just bought a Fuji Film x100 and I’d like to know how to use it sans auto settings ASAP.
I’d learn how to code websites next. Devs are so cool, I’m always blown away by what they can achieve, even in a very short period of time.
Where do you find inspiration?
Outdoors at the park or by the beach. I think you need to give yourself a break and clear your head for those creative ideas to flow. Regular exercise also helps me to stay sharp. I've played hockey since I was a kid and I recently became team captain! Working remotely and on my own, hockey is a great way for me to connect with people.
Tell us something we don't know about you.
I’m going to do some voiceover training in the next year or so and get a VO reel together! I love singing and karaoke and I've always wondered what else I can do with my voice. I’m looking forward to seeing where it takes me.
